Professor John Yoo

John Yoo is a Professor at Berkeley Law. He is also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and a Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. 

Professor Yoo’s new book is The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Supreme Court (Regnery 2023) (with Robert Delahunty). Other books include Defender-in-Chief: Trump’s Fight for Presidential Power (2020); Striking Power: How Cyber, Robots, and Space Weapons Change the Rules for War (2017); Point of Attack: Preventive War, International Law, and Global Welfare (2014); Taming Globalization (2012); and Crisis and Command: A History of Executive Power from George Washington to George Bush (2010).

Attorney John Eastman

John Eastman is an American lawyer and academic who has been criminally indicted, ordered inactive by the State Bar of California, and recommended for disbarment for his advocacy of President Donald Trump after the 2020  presidential election. He has lost eligibility to practice law in California state courts, pending his appeal of the state bar judge's ruling. He has been accused as a co-conspirator in the federal indictment brought against President Trump.

Colonel Chris Starling

US Marine Corps (Ret.)

The Italian Athletic Club

Col. Starling was a national security affairs fellow for 2007–2008 at the Hoover Institution. He will discuss America's top security challenges for our next president including existing and emerging threats.

Chris graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and was commissioned as an infantry officer in 1988. He served in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Marine Divisions. He participated in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Iraqi Freedom. Most recently he was the Commanding Officer of Battalion Landing Team 2/2, completing his fifth deployment to the Persian Gulf in July 2007. 

Other previous assignments include service in the US Pacific Command’s Counter-Drug Inter-Agency Task Force in Alameda, CA and as an Assistant Professor of Military Science at the US Military Academy, West Point. He has a Masters of Public Administration degree from John Jay College, City University of New York.

He is a staunch conservative and fearless in the face of California's Democrat policies. We will welcome his comments on the Republican-controlled  US House of Representatives.

California Senator Melissa Melendez

Former State Senator and Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez was a Russian language translator for the US Navy and was part of reconnaissance flight missions during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Today, her organization's "America First" mission is to ensure President Trump's next administration will be ready to implement his policies on Day 1.

Together with former Trump cabinet officers and other administration officials who began the think tank America First Policy Institute, Senator Melendez is bringing back those successful Trump Administration policies that were working to restore America prior to the pandemic. Putting "America First" means that on day one whenever there are leaders ready to implement these policies, they'll have ready made solutions, laws, and ideas to implement on issues ranging from crime, business prosperity, regulation, energy, national security, and more.

Professor John Yoo

John Choon Yoo is a Korean-born American legal scholar and former government official who serves as the Emanuel S. Heller Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley. He became known for his legal opinions concerning executive power, warrantless wiretapping, and the Geneva Conventions while serving in the George W. Bush administration, during which he was the author of the controversial Torture Memos during the War on Terror.

His latest book The Politically Incorrect Guide to The Supreme Court will be available for purchase at the dinner August 24th.  In this book, he lays out why justices must defend the Constitution, how the Supreme Court became central to American politics, and how the Court can either save the Republic or jeopardize the entire legislative process.

Katie Hopkins

Katie Hopkins is a British conservative media personality and columnist best known for her unflinching reporting in hostile environments. She is also funny.

Katie has lived her life in the cross hairs. She is banned from South Africa by the ANC, was deported from Australia for criticising lockdowns, and has been questioned under police caution for her views and was the target of a jihadi plot to behead her in the UK.

She says she lives utterly without fear, but knows her epitaph: "Katie Hopkins. She died standing up."
